Description: Native to Japan. Forms upright clump 1-2 ft. tall, 1 ft.wide. In spring, leaves emerge medium green at base, red at tip; red color extends along leaf and intensifies in summer and fall. Top half or more of each leaf may be brilliant red. Striking in borders, especially where sun can shine through blades. Rarely (if ever) flowers
