Landscape & Lawn Care Guide

Watering

  • Regardless of how perennials, shrubs, or trees look when they are transplanted from a container into the ground, they will always experience some stress from the transplanting.
  • When applying water to your perennials, shrubs, or trees please be sure to use low pressure and plant the hose close to the soil to assure the root system will receive and absorb the water.
  • Always water thoroughly after transplanting to assure the root system gets off to a good start.
  • Take into account the amount of rainfall received to avoid overwatering.
  • Dryness of the soil can be checked by using your finger to dig 2 inches deep into the soil. If the soil is moist then watering can be delayed.  If the soil is dry watering is required.

Time Of Day

The best time to water is before 10:00 AM or after 8:00 PM

Perennials or Shrubs

Week 1: During the first week immediately following installation, perennials and shrubs should receive approximately 1 gallon of water per day.

Weeks 2 & 3: At the beginning of the week the perennials and shrubs should receive 1 gallon of water every other day.

Continued Care: After the third week of watering is complete continue to water the perennials and shrubs twice a week for a month then weekly from then on. During the extreme heat of the summer months, you might extend the watering schedule depending on the amount of rainfall and weather conditions affecting your area.

  3. Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and appearance. I must say you have done a fantastic job with this. Additionally, the blog loads super quick for me on Chrome. Outstanding Blog!
